Coloumbia Buesaco Ordonez
Colombia Nariño – Maricela Ordoñez Microlot
This exceptional microlot from Maricela Ordoñez showcases the vibrant character and high-elevation brilliance of Colombia’s Nariño region. Grown in Vereda Alto Naranjal near Buesaco at elevations of 1800–1900 MASL, this coffee reflects both meticulous farming and the unique terroir of southern Colombia.
Though we’ve sourced Maricela’s coffees in the past, her production is typically limited, with lots often finding their way into blends. This harvest—just 9 bags—stood out immediately for its clarity, sweetness, and structure, earning its place as a single-origin offering.
Roasted between City and Full City, the cup opens with aromatic sweetness—notes of honey cake, brown sugar, and raisin in the dry fragrance. As it brews, deeper tones of maple syrup and buttered sugar emerge, creating a warm, inviting profile.
In the cup, expect a refined balance of sweetness and brightness. Layers of caramel, cinnamon sugar, and brown sugar carry through a smooth body, while lively acidity brings notes of green apple, rose hips, and a subtle tea-like quality reminiscent of English Breakfast. A touch of caramelized toffee adds depth, leading to a clean, elegant finish.
This coffee performs beautifully as a pour-over, highlighting its clarity and complexity, while immersion methods like French Press enhance its body and amplify its sweetness.
Sourced through a progressive local association, this lot reflects a commitment to transparency and fair farm gate pricing—ensuring traceability and quality at every step.
